A few weeks ago I went into Lush and was standing there completely unsure on what I should buy. Until I came across the Bubblegum Lip Scrub. Seeing as I had seen it everywhere on people's beauty blogs, I thought that I should try it out to see what the fuss was all about. I paid $13.00 for a teeny jar of pretty much just sugar, some oil, flavouring and food colouring, and realized that I could make it myself for so much cheaper, plus I have endless possibilities for flavouring choices. So I came up with a simple and cheap recipe to make your own lip scrub.
INGREDIENTS
4 heaped tablespoons castor sugar
2 teaspoons olive oil
Flavouring of your choice
Food colouring
To make this, add your 4 tablespoons of castor sugar into a bowl, along with your 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Add your preferred flavouring. Add as much as you want depending on how strong you want. Then if you want, add some food colouring. I suggest to use pink food colouring because if it stains, it will stain your lips pink which isn't as bad if it was blue or green. Below I have listed the combinations that I have tried.
*Coconut
*Strawberry
*Vanilla
*Mint

Really great idea, I might give it a go because that price is extortionate! :)

I purchase these lip scrubs from Lush all the time, and honestly, I almost never use them. Actually got two right now, popcorn and bubblegum barely used!. Maybe if I make my own, I will use them?
